Role Description

Summary/Statement of Position:  

A business leader with direct responsibility for meeting people, guest, and financial results for one theater location, while challenging and supporting colleagues to achieve their results also.   Oversees daily operations and deploys structured methods designed to continuously improve operations and deliver an excellent, uninterrupted guest experience.  Fosters a work environment where Decurion’s operating philosophy is present – including a healthy balance of developmental challenge and support so people and the business flourish together.   

                                   

Performance Expectations (Results we expect to accomplish within the first year by having someone in this position):

  1. Delivers Fiscal Year and Quarterly results at the theatre level for people, guests and financials. 
  2. Creates conditions in the theater that promote individual and collective development, and achieve individual and collective performance expectations.  
  3. Directs overall daily operation of the theatre including the following functional areas:  Human Resources and Staff Education, Marketing and Film Scheduling,  Food and Beverage, Facility Maintenance, Information Technology, Projection, and Administration and Control.
  4. Deploys Decurion’s leadership and management practices and structures at the site level.

 

Necessary Experience (Past accomplishments and experience that a candidate should have in order to achieve the results above)

  1. 3-5 years’ management experience (if external candidate, at least 2 yrs of experience as a General Manager) in a retail or hospitality, preferably a high-level guest services, environment managing multiple shifts with 20 or more employees focused on providing an exceptional guest experience.   
  2. Meaningful experience in work environments that promote personal excellence, professional discipline, and best of class business competencies.
  3. Experience in leading and collaborating with subordinates, peers, supervisors and corporate functional groups to generate superior business results through the development of self and others.
  4. A track record of creating conditions for development through hiring, training, conducting performance reviews and related promotion or deselection decisions.
  5. A track record translating financial information, observational data, employee and customer feedback into systems, processes or structures that result in sustainable business improvement to reduce risks and realize opportunities in performance.
  6. Accountability for P&L results, along with experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes for a single site business.
