Role Description

We are currently seeking an accountant to join the Family Office. The Family Office Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting for The Family Office, which includes personal and business financial affairs.  They will work with family members, administrators, third-party contractors, and other professionals across the organization to undertake a process-based approach to work and to enact operational excellence.  Success in this role requires that accounting processes continue to be refined, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.  This position has upward mobility and opportunity to transition into other accounting departments within The Decurion Corporation, including theater and real estate.  This role reports directly to a CPA and hours worked will count towards requirement for CPA License.

•    Enter transactions into accounting system.
•    Maintain stand-alone A/P function, and A/R function.
•    Prepare monthly reconciliations on a timely basis (including bank reconciliations and updating loan amortization schedules). 
•    Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries on a timely basis. 
•    Collaborate with the family office to create meaningful financial reporting packages and to facilitate communication.
•    Update/maintain procedures documents to promote non-person dependent approach to all work.

Requirements: Education, Experience, Competencies

•    Bachler’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics.
•    Experience in general accounting (including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations).
•    Strong QuickBooks Online knowledge and Yardi experience is a plus.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel (especially, v-lookup and pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint.
•    Excellent communication skills.
